A cocktail book to commemorate all the bizarre happenings of 2020.
I became fascinated with zines because of how they foster deep human connection and community through creativity. I have been creating them as a side passion of mine since 2018, and have made one or more in every place I’ve lived since then for spaces I love:
1. The Velvet Zine - a feminist zine featuring all female artists. Made in Boone, NC with Bella Allen.
2: Dead Heavy - a zine focused on the concept of death featuring artists in Boone, NC. Made with Bella Allen.
3: Nostalgia - a zine focused on the concept of nostalgia, featuring artists/peers from Brandcenter. Made in Richmond, VA.
4: Recreation - a yearbook style zine featuring artists/peers from Brandcenter to commemorate our class of 2021’s two years there. Made in Richmond, VA with Malcolm Richardson and Amanda Thao.
5: Valence - a workplace zine featuring artists/peers from Chemistry to foster community and showcase the hobbies everyone has outside of work. Made in Atlanta, GA with Kristy Gomez.
And here is a hodge-podged slice of them all!
